Elyria City Schools needs our votes FOR Issue 19 – a critical levy on the May 2025 Primary Election ballot – to keep preparing Elyria students for successful futures.
Issue 19: Necessary to Continue Preparing Elyria Students for the Future
Issue 19 is a 10-year, 4.9-mill emergency levy that, if approved, would raise $6.4 million per year to support the district’s operations. It funds the programs and training that enrich Elyria students’ education and provide skills they need for college and/or careers.
Because the Elyria City Schools asks only for what it needs, Issue 19 represents the first request for new operations funding in 15 years.
This is due to Elyria City Schools’ excellent fiscal stewardship, which has resulted in 20+ consecutive clean audit awards from the Auditor of State and earning the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association every year since 1998.
Elyria Schools offer quality education and strong support to put students on the best path for their futures. Vote for Issue 19 on or before May 6 to continue this and prevent damaging cuts.
Elyria City Schools has cut costs to stretch the budget for years, including streamlining low-attendance programs and restructuring administrative positions. Now, our district needs our support.
Vote for Issue 19 to prevent disastrous reductions that would disrupt learning and gravely impact our schools and community.
